As of January 1, 2008 the Fire Districts of 14 and 18 became what is now North County Regional Fire Authority.

North County Regional Fire Authorityis a combination department that serves over 15,000 residents within 104 sq miles. Out of our 5 stations, 3 of them are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are staffed by utilizing both career and volunteer personnel, who respond on first out rigs. Our current system relies on over 80 off-duty volunteers who respond when needed to large incidents and/or assists with backfilling fire stations as needed. North County Fire personnel responded to over 2,400 calls in 2006. Some of the services that are provided by this fire district are Fire Responses, Rescue, Advanced Life Support (ALS) services, Basic Life Support (BLS) services, Water / Ice Rescue, Public Education and Fire Prevention, Public Information Officer, and a youth Fire Explorer Program.
The men and women of North County Fire / EMS are trained efficiently to protect the lives, property, and the environment of the citizens and visitors within our response area from adverse effects due to fires, sudden medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, natural disasters, hazardous material spills, and water rescue incidents. This is done through a detailed and demanding training program. The training office has a Battalion Chief assigned to it as well as a Medical Services Assistant (MSA) to help coordinate all the training that will be needed throughout the year to achieve our high level of service. This has been a key area for the fire district over the past several years and has helped really make a difference in service.
To help coordinate all the day to day operational needs of a large fire district and to ensure staffing levels are being met a Battalion Chief is assigned to the Districts Operations. This individual ensures that all equipment is up and running and that the staff is assigned to each station daily. They also coordinate any changes that are needed to help ensure that the community is getting the best services possible each time they call 911. Each day there is a Battalion Chief on-duty who manages the daily movements and responses to all major incidents. This 24 hour service has been in place for the last year and has helped ensure that additional resources are called for right away as well as made sure that the citizens are receiving what is needed in their time of need.
North County Regional Fire Authority is Fire Districts 14 (Warm Beach and Freeborn) and Fire District 18 (Bryant) working together yo better serve the community. This relationship took place over 3 years ago with a joint training division. In 2006 it started its joint operations together when the staffing was merged and equipment was shared around all stations. In 2007 a joint budget was established by the administration and a joint administration office was formed at the Warm Beach Fire Station to be utilized as Headquarters for the two fire districts. After the two elected boards agreed to pursue making the two fire districts into one, the voters agreed to allow the combination of the two and formed the North County Regional Fire Authority.
